KARNYA Signs With BAKERTEAM RECORDS
January 22, 2013Rome, Italy-based progressive metallers KARNYA have inked a deal with Bakerteam Records. The band's debut album, "Coverin' Thoughts", will be released on February 23.
KARNYA's influences include Seventies progressive rock and modern metal, classical music and electronic sounds.
A concept record, "Coverin' Thoughts" takes the listener on an emotional journey through the most diverse musical landscapes, like a book in which each chapter leads to the next one and you have to get to the end to appreciate every nuance. The CD was mixed by Giuseppe Orlando (NOVEMBRE) at Outer Sound Studios in Rome, Italy and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.
KARNYA was formed by three musicians from the Roman underground scene with a significant amount of prior recording and performing experience: Enrico Sandri previously played bass in the prog-metal band UTOPIA with whom he recorded the album "Ice And Knives"; Dario Di Pasquale was the keyboard player in the prog-metal act ZEN and appeared on that band's album "Gaze Into The Light"; and singer/guitarist Riccardo Nardocci had released two solo LPs.
